Dear We* are a group of dancers/artists/musicians who wish to expand understanding of the sensing, imaginative, perceiving body, and through dialogue with practitioners from across the arts and science communities to broaden perspectives on the role of embodiment and imagination. In dialogue with other professionals we are concerned to build bridges between our different disciplines in the field of the body, and to develop a language that can express the experience of the body and its relevance to the quality of everyday living. Our bodies are our ‘selves’, yet culturally we tend to separate body from mind, and to neglect and marginalise the body’s experience. To live fully in our bodies is fundamental to living in relationship to others and to our world. Dance can be a way of opening out our field of knowing, being, and responding. We have invited experts from other fields to join us in exploring these issues. Hugh Brody, anthropologist, film maker, writer - author of ‘The Other Side of Eden’, will give a talk to open up this field for discussion. Artists present will also give a brief overview of their work. *Miranda
